Okeanos Marianas expected to return to Saipan today

The Okeanos Marianas is currently on its way to the CNMI after a nine-day long journey from the annual Yap Canoe Festival.

Last Dec. 7 and 9, Yap hosted the 8th Annual Canoe Festival where the Okeanos Marianas represented the Commonwealth for the first time.

The Okeanos Marianas is scheduled to arrive at the Smiling Cove Marina today at noon, canoe standard time.

According to the Okeanos Marianas’ Facebook page, as of 6:24pm on Monday, the Okeanos Marianas was located at N14’01. 355 E 143’590. 51.

It was reported that the winds were rough, the seas were choppy, and the crew experienced constant rain.
