The Compassionate Friends of Saipan held its sixth Candle Lighting Remembrance Program last Sunday, Dec. 10, as part of The Compassionate Friends’ 21st Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting Service.

Approximately 100 candles were lit in remembrance of those who were “gone too soon.” Over 70 children and siblings were honored with a candle and gentle memories by their loved ones.

The group thanks everyone who planned, donated to, attended, supported or participated, specifically the CNMI Department of Lands and Natural Resources, Division of Parks & Recreation; Marianas Variety; Saipan Tribune; KKMP; Monica Usi and the honor society of Mount Carmel School; Lorna Arcega; and Jim Arenovski.

The Compassionate Friends of Saipan is a non-profit self-help organization that offers friendship, understanding and support to family members who have experienced the death of a son, daughter, brother, sister, or grandchild, and helps others better assist grieving families. Its monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, at 6pm in the Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems Inc. conference room on Middle Road in Gualo Rai.
