SCS Christmas thank you

We have had many wonderful events here at Saipan Community School to celebrate Christmas. Both our concert band and our Elementary Christmas Program proclaimed the coming of Christmas by making a joyful noise and sharing the meaning of Christmas! We have so much to be thankful for. We thank our SCS parents and teachers for their hard work practicing with the children to make these events a success.

The celebration doesn’t stop here! Today, Dec. 12, our junior high students will spread Christmas cheer at the Man’amko Center under the Office on Aging in China Town. This is an opportunity to put our words into action, as what the Bible teaches us: to visit, respect, and love the elderly and hurting (James 1:27, Prov. 20:29). This Biblical model of respect for elders is a value we strive to teach at SCS.

Ukulele caroling will continue on Dec. 14 at 6pm, when Saipan Community School students in grade 3 through grade 8 will be at Kanoa Resort for ukulele caroling to share their talents with the community and tourists as they pass by.

Keeping with tradition, on Dec. 17, the Saipan Community Church will be hosting the annual Christmas feast at 4pm to spread the Christmas joy to everyone in the community! 

As we draw near to the end of our first semester of classes, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our families and community for the overwhelmingly positive support during this half of our school year. We have seen growth in our students’ academics, a display of their hard work in their performances, and found joy in building a stronger community together. To our parents and guardians, thank you for entrusting us at SCS with your child’s education. We see this as a privilege and a responsibility, one we take seriously before God.

We are committed to nurture, love, and pray for your children. We will educate them with excellence. We will help lead them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and strive for integrity, morality, and a positive work ethic. We will teach them to serve and be responsible citizens for our school, community, and world. We will strive to model and train effective communicators. We are committed to following God’s call for our lives and the lives of our students.

I personally am very blessed and proud to be the principal of Saipan Community School! My hope and “Christmas wish” for our community is one full of faith, hope, and love! Merry Christmas!
