The CNMI Department of Public Works’ Division of Energy will be doing a program outreach on Rota on Dec. 14 and 15 to inform island residents about services available to qualified low-income eligible residents.

The weatherization assistance outreach on Dec. 14, 2017, will be from 1pm to 4:30pm, while the Dec. 15 outreach is from 8am to 11am.

With the services available, residents are able to make the necessary upgrades to improve the efficiency of their homes by replacing inefficient lightings and appliances with ones that are qualified energy-efficient, Energy Star-rated lightings and appliances that lower energy use to reduce high energy bills.

To avail of the program services, applications are available at the Rota Mayor’s Office or may be obtained by downloading via www.cnmienergy.com.

For additional information, contact WAP at 664-4480/4481 or fax 664-4483, Monday to Friday, except weekends and holidays, from 7:30am to 11:30am and from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Energy director Thelma B. Inos encourages everyone in the CNMI to make their homes more energy-efficient by replacing inefficient lightings and appliances with qualified energy-efficient, Energy Star-rated products.

Funding opportunity for these programs is made possible by the US Department of Energy through a grant from the Weatherization Assistance Program. (PR)
