Public invited to participate in Rota Christmas tree decorating contest

ROTA—The Department of Finance on Rota is sponsoring a Christmas tree decorating competition and is inviting everyone in the community and all public and private schools to participate.
The trees will be on display at the Sinapalo Children’s Park and the contest’s theme is “Spirit of Giving and Receiving.”
Entry forms may be picked up at the Rota Department of Finance Administration Section. Deadline for submission of entry forms is on Dec. 20, by 4:30pm.
Judging will commence on Dec. 23,17 at 6:30pm. Each participating member of the community and public or private school must submit an entry form.
All Christmas trees should be at least 6 feet tall with Christmas lights.
Each participant will be given a number to place on the Christmas tree to identify it.
Judging will be based on the following criteria: natural materials only, creativity of design, overall display, uniqueness of the Christmas tree, and lighting.
Prizes are $250 for first place, $200 for second place, and $150 for third place.
