Scheduled water service interruption today

There will be a water service interruption in Koblerville and portions of San Antonio and Afetnas today, Nov. 20, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of services at 6pm tonight.

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will be upgrading the KV 21-25 well lines to a new 6-inch upgraded transmission main line.

As a result to the new connection, a more effective and efficient water operation will be provided to the community.

CUC hours on Thanksgiving

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s office hours on Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 is as follows:

Thursday: Closed for Thanksgiving holiday

Friday: Customer Service Center is open 8am to 12pm for payments and purchase of pre-paid meter tokens (load) only. All Other Offices will be closed

Regular business hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017. For emergencies, contact the CUC Call Center at 664-4282 (4CUC). (CUC)

Administrative leave for Friday

Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres is authorizing non-critical Commonwealth employees to go an administrative leave on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017. “With all the work we have done together to and so much progress still ahead of us, we really have much to be grateful for this past year. I thank you all for your hard work and service to improve these islands we call home. Let us continue to practice gratitude and work toward building a better Commonwealth,” he said in a statement. Transfer station, landfill closed for Thanksgiving

In observance of Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, both the Lower Base transfer station and the Marpi landfill waste disposal facilities will be closed all day. (PR)

Holiday closures at AMP

American Memorial Park officials would like to inform the public that the Visitor Center will be closed in observance of the following federal holidays:

– Nov. 23, 2017: Thanksgiving Day

– Dec. 25, 2017: Christmas Day

– Jan. 1, 2018: New Year’s Day

On these days, the rest of the park will remain open. Park staff would like to encourage the public to explore the Visitor Center. With the exception of the holidays, the visitor center is open every day from 9am to 5pm.

Church 360 activities for Thanksgiving

Church 360 will be holding several activities to celebrate Thanksgiving. All events are open to the community. This Sunday, Nov. 19, will be a Thanksgiving Service at 10:15am, with a potluck to follow. The church is providing the turkey and ham. On Thanksgiving Day, Church 360 will hold a Praise Service at 6pm. There will be a game time to follow for any one who would like to stay. Both of these events will be held at Church 360 on the fourth floor of the Marianas Business Plaza. 

On Saturday, Nov. 25, Church 360 will host a six-vs-six volleyball tournament at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Beach Courts starting at 2pm. Teams can be formed ahead of time or at the court. Participants and spectators are asked to bring a chair. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

VA benefits counselor to visit Saipan in Dec.

A U.S. Department of Veterans Benefits Administration benefits counselor will be at the Saipan VA Outreach Clinic on Dec. 15, 2017, from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The benefits counselor will be available to answer benefits questions, and assist with the claim process. The Saipan VA Outreach Clinic is located at the MH II Bldg.
