SDA celebrates 45 years of service
The Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted one of its biggest community fairs and health expos to celebrate 45 years of service to the Marianas last Sunday at the Garapan Fishing Base.
The church highlighted the 45th anniversary of the SDA Clinic and the 35th anniversary of the SDA School during the celebration.
According to Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang, who was one of several guest speakers, the SDA family has been a fundamental part of Saipan’s growth. “Their dedication and loyalty is greatly valued and respected,” he added.
“The community truly appreciates the many years of service by SDA that has contributed and continues to contribute to making our community healthy and safe,” Apatang added.
Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) said that SDA achieving 45 years of service to the Marianas is a milestone.
Sablan said it’s important to celebrate with SDA because they were one of the first dental clinics on Saipan. “They’ve been here and they stayed here and they continue to provide excellent service,” he said.
Sablan is a witness to the quality services of SDA because, as a child, he was terrified of dentists, but the SDA clinic helped him conquer that fear.
At the community fair, SDA had bouncy houses for the children, raffle prizes, an oral cancer checking booth, a body-mass index checking booth, an educational booth, blood sugar and blood pressure checks, and organic meals.
According to SDA Clinic director Dr. Kenneth Pierson, the community fair and expo was both for SDA to celebrate while also benefitting the community they serve.
