PH consulate outreach this week
The Philippine Consulate General in Guam, in coordination with the Office of Honorary Consul Eli Arago, will conduct a mobile consular outreach in the CNMI this week, from Nov. 13 to 17, 2017, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, from 9am to 6pm. Those who wish to renew their passport may submit their application at the Finasisu Terraces, Apartment Building D, second floor (top of the Mini-Mart Store), Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (12pm to 1pm, break time). Free seminar on marketing tomorrow
The CNMI Small Business Development Center will be offering a free business seminar called “How to Write a Marketing Plan” at the Commonwealth Development Authority boardroom tomorrow, Nov. 14, 2017, from 8:30am to 10am. FOA meeting at Everest Kitchen on Wednesday
The Friends of the Arts will hold its first member meeting in two years on Wednesday evening, Nov. 15, from 6:30pm to 9pm, at the Everest Kitchen Restaurant, on Micro Beach Road across the American Memorial Park and next to Bridge Capital in Garapan. The meeting will also include musical and thespian entertainment. Meal cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children under 11.

Military training at former golf course, Orote Point, FDM
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. military will conduct training at the former Adm. Nimitz Golf Course in Barrigada on Nov. 14, from 8am to 4pm.

The military will also conduct training at Orote Point on Nov. 15, from 9am to 8pm. The training will be contained within the following coordinates: 13° 25’ 24”N/144° 38’ 15”E.

These trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the trainings.

Training will also take place at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Nov. 16-18, from 10am to 11:59pm.

It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.

The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)

Survivors, caregivers support meeting on Thursday
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the next monthly support meeting of the Commonwealth Cancer Association this Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, starting at 5:30pm at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Giovanni’s conference room. Sales training for holidays on Thursday
The “Customer Service & Suggestive Selling for the Holidays” training seminar will be conducted this Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9am to 12pm at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce conference room (Marianas Business Plaza, third floor, Suite 315). Kantan Isla this Friday
The Kantan Isla Music Festival will be held this Friday, Nov. 17 at the Garapan Fishing Base, from 5pm to 11pm. For additional information, call CCA at 322-9982. There would be a raffle drawing and incentives for participating individuals. Ten vendor slots are open for non-profit organizations, families, and churches that want to raise funds. The council will be providing tents but a $25 park and recreation fee is required.

Las Vegas Night this Saturday

The 2017 Rotary Club of Saipan’s Las Vegas Night this Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall, from 6pm to 12pm. This year the Rotary Club of Saipan will make a donation to the Rotary Club of Las Vegas Nevada to help those in this year’s mass shootings. Each ticket is $5 or get five tickets for $20.
