NMHC to fund San Vicente park, Tinian gym repair
The Northern Marianas Housing Corp. has started the bidding process for its San Vicente Park Project and will soon start the pre-construction conference for the Tinian Gymnasium renovation.
The planned San Vicente park will be located by the Tres Marias store.
According to NMHC planning and environmental officer Jacob Muña, the pre-bidding process was started recently and the bids were issued out in the first week of November.
Muña said that NMHC expects to receive the bids by the end of November or December and will update the public as to what steps will be taken after that.
According to Muña, the government initiated the San Vicente Park Project because the village currently has none.
NMHC will also be having the pre-construction conference for the Tinian Gymnasium project on Nov. 18 and will start the renovation of the facility this month.
Muna said this will give the Tinian community a functioning facility that they can all enjoy and hopefully promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
“The Tinian Gymnasium facility is a youth facility for fitness like basketball, volleyball, and wrestling matches,” said Muña.
The renovated facility will also help make the Tinian community more aesthetically pleasing. “By renovating it, it would give a renewed appearance to the Tinian community,” said Muña.
The project was initiated by the Tinian Mayor’s Office and will be funded through the Community Development Block Grant under NMHC.
According to Muña, the time period for the renovation will be 180 days.
