CNMI’s Got Talent now accepting auditions
With over $2,000 up for grabs for the grand winner, this year’s edition of CNMI’s Got Talent is now open for auditions.
The contest, which Bridge Capital LLC launched seven years ago, has become a standard for performances on island and usually draws a glittering array of performers.
According to Bridge Capital chief operating officer Tucker Baldwin, this year’s competition will be held on Dec. 20 at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall and will showcase individual performers, group performers, and duos.
The event is completely funded by Bridge Capital, with the intent of promoting talent in the Commonwealth. “We want artists to have a chance to show off their talents,” said Baldwin.
CNMI’s Got Talent is open to all performing artists in the CNMI.
The last day to submit audition pieces will be on Nov. 30. Auditions are open to everyone of all ages who reside in the Commonwealth.
Competitors are eligible to win over $10,000 worth of prizes. Prizes will be distributed to four runner-ups and one grand winner.
According to Baldwin, the grand winner will be awarded $2,500 and the four runner-ups will receive cash prizes that range from $500 to $2,500.
A Governor’s Choice Award will also be presented to the performing artist of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres’ choice. The award will also be funded by Bridge Capital and will be worth $1,500.
“Gov. Torres will be one of the judges this year and the governor has the right to present his own special award,” said Baldwin.
The grand winner will also be promoted by the Bridge Capital.
