Next Top Chef 2017 competition receives over $40K in donations
The Next Top Chef has received over $40,000 worth of donations that will go to the cooking competition.
According to Next Top Chef committee member Rose Smith, the committee has so far received donations
from numerous sponsors, both in-kind and cash, worth $42,000. That includes towels and supplies that will be used at the competition, cash donations, and equipment.
Final touches are being made before the big event today, Nov. 9, starting at 6pm, at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan’s dinner show area.
All the slots for the competition have been filled.
There will be 12 competing chefs from hotels, restaurants, and independent individuals who feel that they have what it takes to become the 2017 Next Top Chef.
A cash prize of $1,000 will go to the chef who wins first place, $500 for second place, and $300 for third place.
Tickets, which cost $50 per head, to the contest have been sold out on tickets since Tuesday but they is still accepting payments at the door. The contest is a fundraiser of the Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation.
