The Saipan Vegas Resort, conveniently located in Chalan Lau Lau on Middle Road, is the new kid on the block.

Centrally located on Saipan (just a five-minute drive from Susupe or 10 minutes from Garapan), Saipan Vegas Resort offers a lively mix of gaming experience, affordable accommodations, and a round of golf in their nine-hole course—all in one place.

According to Saipan Vegas Resort consultant Gus Noble, what used to be an eyesore on Saipan has now been converted into a budget integrated resort that combines a gaming experience and a golf course.

“One of the first things we did was we picked up Saipan Country Club, which is the very first golf club on Saipan [that was] built in the late ’50s, probably by the military. It’s a great little golf course and we got it. We then picked up this building and, renovated it,” Noble said.

The concept of the Saipan Vegas hotel is to offer budget accommodations, which is popular around the world. It currently has 53 rooms and cost ranges from $50 to $60 a night. The rooms include basic amenities like cable television, air-conditioning, and fiber optic WiFi.

“We built a hotel that is comfortable for both tourists and locals, well designed, with trees and a good spaces where guests can truly relax and enjoy their stay,” he said.

He assured that Saipan Vegas still has many projects in the pipeline. “We are still planning to build more rooms. A swimming pool, a Mexican restaurant, and a jungle bar near the golf course are in the pipeline.”

The gaming resort has 100 machines that are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while the golf course is open from Monday to Sunday. It costs only $25 for residents and comes with a golf cart.

According to Noble, the resort also wants to contribute to the CNMI’s growing economy.

“We have a policy of 100 percent local employment. We have a few contract workers who take care of the golf course but all the new employees are locals. I can say that we are a big taxpayer but we definitely don’t mind because that’s how we make our contribution to the economy.”

Saipan Vegas Resort has a special offer for local residents for the whole month of November: $40/night stay with a welcome drink, free unlimited golf, $25 pre-pay in the gaming room, free dinner, and a beer.

“We will have that special promo for one whole month to give locals a taste of what we offer. We invite them to relax, be with their family and take home with them a good Saipan Vegas Resort experience.”

The resort is already getting good bookings for Christmas and New Year.

“What we offer is quite unique—affordable, comfortable, and fun all in one place. We are built for the budget travelers, which we think is a real niche,” he said. “We need our luxury hotels but we also need a full range of hotels to get all the travelers on island, both luxury and budget travelers. We also invite visitors from Rota and Tinian that will be on island for a brief stay. Everyone is welcome to Saipan Vegas Resort.”
