Petersburg bags Club 200’s grand raffle prize

The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter’s 28th Annual Club 200 gave away over $100,000 worth of prizes to 25 raffle winners last Saturday, with the $15,000 grand prize going to a local lawyer.

Prizes included gift certificates for up to $100 worth of groceries, electronic gadgets, roundtrip tickets to the U.S. mainland and Asia, branded handbags, household appliances, gift certificates for lunches and brunches for different eating establishments, gift certificates for hotel stays and activities offered in hotels, and the grand prize of $15,000.

The grand raffle prize of $15,000 went to Benjamin Petersburg. He and his wife, Nola Hix, who is co-chair of the Club 200 event, were thrilled and shocked upon receiving the grand prize.

According to Petersburg, he intends to dedicate the money to his newborn daughter, Aliana. “This is going to buy a lot of diapers,” he added.

The first place raffle prize was awarded to Rob Epley, the second place prize was awarded to IT&E, the third place prize went to Ma. Cristina Sta. Ana, the fourth place prize went to James Benedetto, the fifth place prize was awarded to TakeCare Insurance, the sixth place prize went to Esther Monique DLGuerrero, the seventh place prize was awarded to Zerah Santos, the eighth place went to TakeCare again, ninth place went to MITA Travel, the 10th place prize went to Rory Starkey, the 11th place prize went to James Camacho, the 12th place prize went to Diego Camacho, the 13th place prize went to Pete Tomokane, 14th place went to Mike Sablan, 15th place went to Conrad Castro, 16th place went to Manu Melwami, 17th place went to Genpro International, 18th place went to Alexander Martin, 19th place went to Nikki Sablan, 20th place went to Eleanor Cabrera, 21st place prize went to Allen Perez, 22nd place went to N15 Architecture, 23rd place went to Jimmy Sison, 24th place went to Natalia Sablan, and the 25th place went to Francisco Deleon Guerrero.

According to J.D. Tenorio, ARC-NMI Chapter Disaster Program manager, over 1,000 people were present and were entered into the raffle.

Separate prizes were given out to the winners of the costume competition and the dance competition.

The dance competition winners and costume competition winners received gift certificates to various restaurants.

The winners for the dance competition were the pirate duo of Kip Aiko and Keli Tenorio.

Costume contest winners were the Dunn family in first place as Sharknado, second place winners were the Boyer family dressed as Poseidon, a mermaid, and a crab, and third place was awarded to the O’Malleys dressed as confused tourists.

The total amount raised during the fundraiser and the donations received have not been calculated yet. Tenorio said the final count would be disclosed sometime this week.
The proceeds raised will fund the many projects and programs under the ARC-NMI Chapter.
