My Haggan Dream, a short film produced last year by the Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, has been named a finalist in the MY HERO Peoples’ Choice Film Festival in Los Angeles, California.
This has been the trend with this short film, which MINA produced with the CNMI Department of Lands and Natural Resources Sea Turtle Program, the CNMI Division of Fish and Wildlife, and the NOAA Fisheries Pacific Islands Regional Office.
It has been played in film festivals in Guam, France (at Cannes Shorts), Spain, and Hawaii, and has won awards at the International Ocean Festival and Blue Ocean Film Festival, and was an official selection at the Waimea Ocean Film Festival, International Wildlife Film Festival, 2017 Bay Area International Children’s Film Festival, Cannes Short Film Festival, and Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
If it wins at the Los Angeles film festival, the film will get into hundreds of classrooms around the country.
