Purse-snatching incident
Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help for a robbery incident that occurred at the Aqua Resort Club in Achugao.
At about 9:07pm, a police officer was in the area when security approached him, stating that a tourist just had her purse snatched.
Police learned the victim, a 31-year-old Asian female, was at the beach having a meal when she was approached by a young local male, one of three suspects.
The suspect greeted the victim and raised his hand to high-five the victim. As the victim lifted her arm, a second suspect came up behind her and snatched her purse off the victim’s arm.
The police report stated that all three suspects ran toward the dark area of the beach and disappeared. It did not indicate the role of the third suspect in the robbery.
Suspect No. 1 is described as local male, skinny, was wearing a brown T-shirt and a pair of black shorts, and had on a dark blue hat with a red visor.
Suspect No. 2 is described as a local male, wearing a white tank top shirt, a pair of black short pants, and had on a dark baseball cap.
Suspect No. 3 is described as a local male and was wearing a red T-shirt and a pair of black short pants.
All three suspects appeared to be teenagers.
The items stolen include a beige-colored woven handbag, containing a gray wallet with coins and $150 cash, a Samsung J7 cell phone worth $600, assorted makeup, an anti-insect spray, and hotel room key.
