The Oleai Nakayoshi and the Nipa Hut Exquisites clinched their respective division crowns in the post season Bud Light Cup tournament of the Saipan Electronic Darts Association League.
Nakayoshi, runner-up to the 6JMS Mafia in the regular season, completed a masterful 9-3 win over the Chow Time Calamity Fun, while the Exquisites tripped the VFW Bull-It, 8-5, in separate finals matches held last week.
John Barit, Jayson John, Jun Santos, and K.J. Villagomez were on target against their opponents to easily secure the win in their race-to-nine match up.
A sweep in the Singles 501 and Regular Cricket events were enough to propel Nakayoshi to the title win.
Nakayoshi edged regular season champions Mafia, 9-8, in the knockout semifinals, while Calamity downed the 6JMS Pythons, 9-7, in the other Final Four matchup to arrange a finals showdown.
In the women’s side, Exquisites relied on the steady hands of Frances Magofna and Levayna Ngirablosch in beating Bull-It. Magofna and Ngirablosch also had plenty of help from Sally Aguon, Lois Blaluk, and Reina Reftang to show their mastery over their opponents and complete their title run in the Bud Light Cup after also ruling the regular season.
Candice Avelino, Nei Camacho, L.J. Francisco, Kayshia Laniyo, and Selma Salas could not find the same spirit that gave them an 8-4 semis win over the 6JMS Hot Mess.
