Action in the 2nd Ali’i Blue Haus Invitational Basketball League will resume tomorrow as repair works at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium were completed last week.
League commissioner Sam Fernandez said the broken tiles of the flooring of the gym had been fixed last Wednesday, making the facility safe for play. He added that they could have returned to play last weekend, but decided to postpone their matches for a few more days to allow the court more time to dry up. Tiles at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium peeled off, causing delays in the first two weeks of the league. The last time Ali’i Blue Haus caging had its matches there was on Sept. 23.
Tomorrow, two games will be played with the Green Archers taking on MP Light at 6pm and Black Mamba battling Spigen in the second tiff at 7:30pm. For the weekend games, the league will have a triple-header this Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Silencer will duel the Green Archers in the first match at 5:30pm, while Batang Bear Brand will collide with White Haus in the second game at 7pm, and Tropang Ridhors will face Gold Ballers in the nightcap at 8:30pm. For the Sunday curtain-raiser, it will be Team Sawi versus Spigen at 5pm, while at 6:30pm, Tropang Ridhors will challenge MP Light, and Green Minded will square off against Black Mamba in the third match at 8pm.
Tropang Ridhors and Batang Bear Brand are tied for the early lead in the 12-team field after holding similar 2-0 records. Spigen, Silencer, and Green Minded are also in a deadlock for the No. 2 spot with their identical 2-1 marks. Black Mamba is at third place with its 1-0 slate, and was followed by Gold Ballers (1-1), White Haus (1-2), Team Sawi (0-1), Vendetta (0-2), Green Archers (0-2), and MP Light (0-2).
Meanwhile, the Sept. 27 and 30, and Oct. 1 games will be rescheduled on a later date.
