Jon Decoteau, the divisional director of the Society for Human Resource Management, will be the main speaker at the CNMI Chapter’s membership meeting on Oct. 4. The meeting is from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

Decoteau, SHRM-SCP, who has over 25 years of experience in the human resource profession, will talk about the future of HR in a changing workplace.

Currently, he is the divisional director and the California field services leader for SHRM, in Sacramento, California.

Prior to joining SHRM, he has held senior leadership roles at several international companies including eBay, Coca-Cola, Motorola, Nissan, and General Dynamics. His HR career has taken him around the globe, working on-site and on-location with HR teams in 19 countries and on five continents.

Decoteau will discuss how, as an HR professional, HR professionals can play a significant role in promoting the success of their organization by understanding the organizations business objectives and the changing environment—nationally and globally—in which you compete.

In this session, attendees will learn the business skills you need to develop to become a strong contributor to the “bottom line.”

Decoteau will also review ways to leverage three key tools—analytics, leadership development, and workplace flexibility—to more effectively engage an organization’s human capital assets in fulfilling your business goals. He will also speak on how HR professionals and managers can develop HR strategies for a culturally diverse workforce.

This will be a lunch presentation. The fee is $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-SHRM members. Contact Penny Jones by email at penelope.jones@hyatt.com or Denise Montenegro at denise.montenegro@hyatt.com or by telephone at 323-5867/68. (PR)
