Brotherhood crushes Red Torch; Momma Charu wins

Brotherhood had a pair of nine-run innings and peppered the Red Torch bullpen with 30 hits in cruising to a 31-15 victory in last Sunday’s game in the 2017 Belau Masters Men’s Softball League at the Dandan Softball Field.
The win was the 13th in 14 games for Brotherhood, which regained sole possession of the top spot after former co-leaders Peleliu lost to Karui, 21-10, in the other game. Red Torch remained winless after 14 matches.
Bill Aguon went perfect at the plate, going 5-for-5, to lead Brotherhood’s hit parade. He blasted two home runs and had a double while also scoring five runs and bringing in a game-high five RBIs. Bill Camacho, Zackary Igisomar, and John Tomokane each went 4-for-5 and combined for 12 runs. Camacho also homered, had five RBIs, and two doubles, while Igisomar made a pair of doubles and triples aside from four RBIs, and Tomokane posted two doubles and two RBIs. John Diaz finished 3-for-4 with three runs, a double, and two RBIs; Tom Diaz went 3-for-5 aside from scoring thrice with a double, a triple, and two RBIs; and Joe Lizama went 3-for-6 with a double and two RBIs.
Karui 21, Peleliu 10
Taylor Germance scored two runs, including a grand slam in the fifth inning, behind a 2-for-4 batting in a shortened match.
Karui improved to 9-5, while Peleliu, which previously tied Brotherhood on top of the standings, dropped to 12-2.
Germance also had four RBIs, while Darwin Masaharu went 3-for-4, all singles, with two runs and one RBI.
Momma Charu 20, Asahi 10
Payton Sakuma homered twice, including a grand slam, driving in seven runs to lead Momma Charu to its 10th win in 14 games, while handling Asahi its ninth loss against four wins.
Sakuma went 2-for-2, scoring four runs, while Nizer Masayos was 2-for-4, with three runs, two doubles, and an RBI. Tito Laniyo hit 3-for-5, made two runs, and had a double, and an RBI. Leo Bobai, who was 3-for-4, reached home plate three times and gave up 13 hits in a no relief effort on the mound.
Papa Bears 18, Sufa 17
Batting leader Jojo Attao homered three times and added a single in his five times at bat. He also had six RBIs.
Ben Palacios went perfect at the plate, 4-for-4, with two runs, a double, and an RBI, while Rodney Camacho also homered, going 3-for-5 with one run and two RBIs.
