$992,000 grant for CNMI home visiting services

Share

The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration recently awarded the CNMI $992,000 for its home visiting program.

The money will fund the Healthy Outcomes for Maternal and Early-Childhood, or H.O.M.E., Visiting Program to support evidence-based home visiting services.

The program offers visiting services on a voluntary basis to families in the CNMI.

It is administered through the Maternal & Child Health Bureau of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s Division of Public Health Services.

The H.O.M.E. program helps parents and caregivers connect with services and resources and improve the skills they need to support their families’ wellbeing and provide the best opportunities for their children.

Home visiting programs give pregnant women and families, particularly those considered at-risk, necessary resources and skills to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally healthy and ready to learn.
