Garapan cleanup yields 1,080 lbs of trash

PDM Promoters hauled in a total of 1,080 lbs of trash during its monthly cleanup last Saturday at the Paseo de Marianas in Garapan.

PDM Promoters’ group of volunteers last Saturday was made up of 20 Saipan Awaodori members and six staff of Kinpachi Restaurant led by Misako Kamata, the restaurant’s owner and director.

Cleanup coordinator Sonia Siwa said they were able to pick up trash inside alleys between Coral Tree Avenue, Beach Road, and American Memorial Park.

PDM Promoters’ monthly cleanups are held every Saturday. It is supported by the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality, and Division of Solid Waste Management which waives the fee for trash disposal, and T-Galleria and TSL Foundation, which enables the group to have the cleaning materials needed. Kinpachi Restaurant provides the meal and snacks for the volunteers.
