Personnel from the Weatherization Assistance Program will be available at the Rota Mayor’s Office for two days this week to help qualified residents avail of assistance.

In an announcement from the CNMI Department of Public Works, Division of Energy Office last Thursday, it said that personnel from the Weatherization Assistance Program will be on Rota this Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, and Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, from 9am to 4pm, to provide on-site assistance regarding the application process and the program services available to qualified low-income eligible residents.

Energy director Thelma B. Inos encourages everyone in the CNMI to make their homes more energy-efficient by replacing inefficient lightings and appliances with qualified energy-efficient, Energy Star-rated products.

“With the services available, residents are able to make the necessary upgrades to improve the efficiency of their homes by replacing inefficient lightings and appliances with ones that are qualified Energy-Efficient, Energy Star-rated lightings and appliances that lower energy use to reduce high energy bills,” she said.

To avail of the program services, applications are available at the Rota Mayor’s Office or you may obtain an application for services by downloading a copy of an application from www.cnmienergy.com.

For additional information, you may also contact the Division of Energy Office office at 664-4480/4481 or fax 664-4483, Monday to Friday, except weekends and holidays, from 7:30am to 11:30am and from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Funding for these programs is made possible by the U.S. Department of Energy through a grant from the Weatherization Assistance Program. Energy Star is the government-backed symbol for energy efficiency, providing simple, credible, and unbiased information that consumers and businesses rely on to make well-informed decisions in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
