Robbery in Garapan

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help for a robbery incident that occurred near the Beach Garden Hotel and Apartments in Garapan.

On Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at 8:50pm, police responded to a robbery incident at the intersection of Chichirica Avenue and Llat Street in Garapan, west of the Beach Garden Hotel and Apartments.

Police learned that the victim, a 35-year-old Asian female, was walking east on Llat Street with three of her friends when they saw the suspect’s car pass them, heading west. The suspect’s car came to a stop and a male suspect wearing a pair of board shorts and dark T-shirt exited the car. The suspect ran toward the victim and grabbed her purse. The victim struggled with the suspect, causing the victim to fall. The suspect then ran back to the car with the victim’s purse, entered the car, and fled the area.

The suspect’s car is described as a gray/silver Toyota Yaris. Witnesses described the car’s driver as a man. The items stolen include one white purse containing the victim’s Chinese passport, driver’s license, ID’s, credit cards, the victim’s wristwatch, two cell phones, a pair of sunglasses, and foreign currency. The victim received minor injuries.
