The Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of the TanHoldings Group of Companies, will be hosting the 2nd Annual We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes this month on three islands of the CNMI to remember the 9/11 attack victims 16 years ago and honor community heroes who rallied to help.

On Tinian, the commemorative event will be held from Sept. 5 to 17 at the Veterans Memorial Park.

On Rota, it will be held from Sept. 7 to 22 at the Corporal Joe G. Charfauros Jr. Veterans Memorial Park.

The Saipan event will take place from Sept. 10 to 18 at the American Memorial Park.

This year’s event builds on last year’s highly successful commemoration.

This event entails the posting of U.S. flags, with the hope that it will bring the community together to remember the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon 16 years ago and honor community heroes—past or present service members, public safety officers, fire and rescue personnel, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and other first responders.

Tribute ceremonies will be held at each event site: Sept. 8 on Rota at 4:30pm, Sept. 11 on Tinian at 10am, and Sept. 11 on Saipan immediately following the Freedom Walk, which will begin at the Garapan Fishing Base at 5pm and end at the American Memorial Park.

Remember a victim of the 9/11 attacks or honor a community hero by sponsoring a flag in their name. For a small donation, sponsors may retain the flag at the close of the event or just have flags posted in the name of a hero for the duration of the event. Commemorative T-shirts are also available for a small donation. All funds raised will go toward providing local support for post-traumatic stress disorder survivors.

Flag and T-shirt donations may be dropped off at I-Shops at Kanoa Resort, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, or Paseo de Marianas, Shirley’s Coffee Shops, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation office on the second floor of the JP Center in Garapan, the Tinian Mayor’s Office, or the Rota Mayor’s Office.

“We invite the public to support the We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes and walk through the orderly rows of flags,” said Tan Holdings president Jerry Tan. “A visit is necessary to truly appreciate the display of flags honoring 9/11 attack victims and community heroes. Donors, event sponsors and visitors know to expect an inspiring and memorable display of red, white and blue while supporting a great cause.”

The 2017 We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes is brought to you by the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, TanHoldings, American Memorial Park, IT&E, Power 99, Triple J Enterprises Saipan, GPPC, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Imperial Pacific International, Marianas Variety, Docomo Pacific, and many other sponsors.
