Ex-security officer gets 5 years for sex abuse
A 20-year-old former security officer was slapped yesterday with a five-year prison term for sexually abusing a minor on Saipan.
Christopher Ada Chlarson Jr. pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree as part of a plea deal.
Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio sentenced Chlarson to 10 years in prison, all suspended except for five years, with credit for time served. After serving his sentence, Chlarson will be placed on 10 years of probation.
He was required to register as a sex offender, submit to an examination by the Community Guidance Center, undergo any recommended treatment, and pay restitution to the victim in an amount to be determined at a hearing.
Chlarson will be required to submit to blood/urine testing. He is prohibited from consuming any alcoholic beverages and using controlled substances during his probation.
Assistant attorney general Teri Tenorio stated that Chlarson sexually abused the girl using his finger in March 2017.
Chlarson told the court that he touched the girl’s privates.
Assistant public defender Nancy Dominski served as counsel for Chlarson.
According to court records, a police officer responded to a school in May after the principal reported a sexual abuse of a minor case.
A teacher talked to a 15-year-old girl after she wrote in a journal that someone has been traumatizing her. The student confessed that Chlarson sexually touched her twice while she was sleeping at home in March 2017.
Chlarson was a security officer at Best Sunshine when he was arrested last May.
