Brotherhood bounced back from a shocking loss last week by manhandling Karui, 28-7, in the first game of a quadruple match in the 2017 Belau Masters Men’s Softball League yesterday at the Dandan Softball field.

Its once unblemished record tarnished last week by Momma Charu, Brotherhood made sure there won’t be another upset loss and immediately flexed its muscles right from the opening pitch of the shortened match courtesy of the mercy rule.

John Terlaje had a lead-off walk and touched home plate on a Ken Kalen sacrifice fly. Brotherhood then went on to score 12 runs on 12 hits highlighted by home runs each by Bill Camacho, Jerry Ayuyu, and Terlaje as the inning went back to the top of the batting order.

Brotherhood added 11 more runs in the top of the second to make it 24-3 with Terlaje blasting his second homer and Ayuyu adding his own round-tripper and a triple.

Terlaje gave up seven hits and was supported by Brotherhood’s excellent defense after forcing Karui’s batters to either fly outs or line drives.

Ayuyu, Terlaje, Jack Diaz, and Bill Quitugua went perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 and combining for 12 RBIs as Brotherhood improved to 11-1 while Karui dropped to 6-5.

Ayuyu scored thrice with two homers and a triple while Terlaje had four runs and homered twice. Diaz had a double and three runs, while Quitugua touched home plate three times.

In the second game, Asahi clinched its fourth win in seven games after carving out a 22-16 decision against Red Torch, which dropped its 11th straight match.
