To underscore its commitment to conservation efforts in the CNMI, Docomo Pacific Saipan recently signed on as an emerald sponsor for Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance’s Green Gala.
The gala is slated for Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
Docomo’s sponsorship totals more than $5,000 in cash and in-kind prizes for the silent auction at the Green Gala.
“We are committed to doing our part in conserving the CNMI’s natural resources, and will do everything we can to support MINA in their efforts to continue with their mission of conservation in our islands,” said Dino Manning, general manager of Docomo Pacific Saipan. “We look forward to this year’s Green Gala, and partnering with MINA is one of the ways in which Docomo Pacific is dedicated to keeping our islands clean.”
As the leading conservation nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth, MINA continues to foster the culture of recycling through its Adopt-A-Bin Project, which has placed recycling bins in all major beaches around the island, as well as its Tasi Watch Program, Marine Debris, and Schools for Environmental Conservation, among other programs, that reach out to the community in building awareness for a sustainable, pollution-free environment for future generations.
“Our organization is supported by project grants and generous contributions from local businesses and community members,” said Somia Quan, vice president of MINA’s board of directors, “and we are extremely thankful for Docomo’s contribution to this year’s Green Gala. Docomo’s valuable support will help MINA continue the work we do in advocating protection of our fragile island environment, from the land to the sea, and we are thankful for their generosity.”
“In addition to the ‘Farm to Table’ theme, the evening promises lively entertainment, local brews, wines and spirits, highlights from MINA’s numerous projects, a silent auction, and many other activities that promises a memorable evening,” said Quan.
Last year’s Green Gala was sold out, so organizers are encouraging those who plan to attend to buy their tickets early. Tickets for the Green Gala can be purchased at the MINA office in Gualo Rai or from any of the volunteer board members.
