CUC to present water, wastewater master plan today

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will be holding a public meeting on its conditionally approved water and wastewater master plan today, Aug. 15, 6pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
CUC’s Water and Wastewater Master Plan has been conditionally approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agncy.
The meeting will provide information on and to receive discussion and public comment related to CUC’s conditionally approved Water and Wastewater Master Plan.
Pursuant to section 3.B., Paragraph 50 of Stipulated Order Number One for Preliminary Injunctive Relief, filed under United States District Court for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Civil Case No. 08-0051, CUC is required to develop and submit for EPA approval a comprehensive drinking water and wastewater master plan (“Master Plan”) to address the drinking water and wastewater systems needs in the CNMI for the next 20 years. The Master Plan’s requirements and scope of interest is set forth further under Sections 3. b1, b2, b3 and B4 of SO1.
Copies of the conditionally approved Master Plan and SO1 are available in its entirety for review for at least the next 45 days on CUC’s website at: http://www.cucgov.org. Please click on “Draaft Water and Wastewater Master Plan” to view or download the documents. A written copy of the Master Plan will also be available for inspection at the CUC Administrative Office: Third Floor, Joeten Dandan Building, Saipan; CUC Tinian Office; CUC Rota Office. CUC will also be providing copies of the Joeten-Kiyu Library and the Northern Marianas College Library during this time.
