Saipan Baseball League coordinator Tony Rogolifoi is again requesting teams that are interested to join the upcoming season to attend today and tomorrow’s meetings at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium’s conference room.

The Masters will meet at 5:30pm Thursday, while Friday will be the Under-25 league’s turn at the same time.

Rogolifoi said there are three teams that already confirmed their participation in the U25 division, while four signed up in the Masters.

Competing for the U25 crown are the Blue Jays, C.K. Bears, and the Pirates, while defending champion GSM Masters returns to defend their title against the Bolleros, BSI, and Papa Bears.

Rogolifoi said one he is hoping one more team would join in the U25 league. “Four teams would be perfect. I already reached out to some of the coaches and they are going to inform me by the end of the week. On or before the meeting.”

He added that he wanted to open the season since there have been occasional rains. “As much as possible we want to begin now. We’re hoping to open the season on Aug. 28 since it has been raining.”

Rogolifoi also informed all teams to look for their respective sponsors to help them defray the league expenses—entry fee, uniforms, and equipment.

The league entry fee is $1,000 and should be made payable to SBL Inc. Deadline of payment of the entry fee is on or before 5pm on Aug. 25, Friday, and there won’t be any extension.

Entry fees, uniforms, ground rules, equipment, and other related matters would be discussed in the meeting.

For more information, contact league director Rogolifoi at 234-6672 or 285-3966.
