Tentative fights for ROP 22 released
A total of 13 undercard fights are tentatively lined up for Rites of Passage 22: Rampage set next month with organizers still trying to secure the final date and venue of one of the longest-running mixed martial arts events on Saipan.
Fight promoter Cuki Alvarez said all fights are subject to change. He is also looking for boxers or any fighter that has trained in the “Sweet Science” to sign up.
Boxing, if there would be fighters that would step up, would open up the event followed by two K1—a kickboxing platform—matches.
Trench Tech’s Luis “TwoTwo” Litulumar (65 lbs) will face off with Team Tinian’s William Juanis King (70 lbs) in a kids exhibition match followed by Derrick Evangelista (135 lbs) of Guam Muay Thai clashing with Lenny “MachingGun” Sablan (140 lbs).
Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez is scheduled to fight last in the MMA roster at the 145-150-lb weight class. But his opponent has yet to be determined.
Team Tinian’s Kimo Adriano will open up the MMA fights when he takes on Andres “The Tanapag Beach Bad Boy” Camacho at 130 lbs, while Ground Fu’s Kyle Gumataotao collides with Jadrien “Last King” Camacho of Down2Scrap at 120lbs.
Red Ants Academy’s JBoy Langu will face Manny “The Kid” Camacho of Zombie MMA in a featherweight bout and Team Tinian’s Audrien Cruz meets Zombie MMA’s George “Game Over” Grover at 130 lbs.
It will Rota against Tinian for the next three bouts with L.D. Ogo, John Mendiola, and A.J. Barcinas of Luta Top Team battling Team Tinian’s Perry World, Juschery Castro, and Austin John King at 145 lbs, 135 lbs, and 140 lbs weight classes, respectively.
Sang Hyun Park is hoping to return to Team Ace MMA Korea’s gym in Paju with a win against Steel Athletics Guam’s Seay Camacho at 140lbs, while VIDA MMA Guam’s Zack Benavente will trade skills with Guam Muay Thai’s Mike “The Medic” Puccini at 155lbs.
Standby fights are also in the roster with Guam Muay Thai’s Jay “The Newphew” Jones of Guam Muay Thai making his debut at 125lbs while Marc Vidaurri waiting for an opponent at 220 lbs. Khalil Knunu, also of Guam Muay Thai, will be fighting at 155 lbs.
Austin Kosam (135-150 lbs), VIDA MMA’s Pete Benavente (135 lbs), and Independent warriors Alejandro Tebit (205 lbs) and Kimo Adriano are also looking for possible foes. JJ’s Guy Reily Miyawata will clash with JJ’s Guy Reily Miyawata, while teens Sitchiru Langu of Red Ants Academy and Kimo Adriano collide at 145 lbs.
