Every win counts in billiards leagues
Each win would be important to all teams that are in title contention in the Saipan Billiards Association’s Tuesday and Thursday leagues with games entering the final stretch.
It’s still an open race in both leagues with four teams remaining in the hunt for the division crowns. All 13 games in the Singles and Partners 8-Ball events are played every week since each win and loss would count in the standings.
Only two wins each separate the competing teams in the Tuesday Division making the last six weeks more exciting.
The 9 Eleven Docomo Hustlers are still on top at 104-78 followed by the 102-80 apiece of the Chow Time-Blue Haus Destroyers and the 9 Eleven Titans. Tasha’s Str8 Black Ball holds a 102-80 record at fourth.
The Hustlers continue to lead the standings after an 8-5 decision over the Str8 Black Ball, while the Destroyers edged the Titans, 7-6, to join their opponents in shadowing the leaders.
The Chow Time Assassins defeated Tasha’s Crazy 8, 7-6, with both teams having 69-113 records to complete the standings.
Over at the Thursday League, the Chow Time 8-Black Ball enjoy a three-win lead at 111-71 against the 9 Eleven MJD Warriors, 108-74, with the latter also up by three over sister team Titans II (105-77). Tasha’s Wild Bills is fourth (101-81).
The 8-Black Ball kept their hold of the top ranking following a 9-4 defeat of the lowly 9 Eleven Jam Shooters, while the Titans II remained in the title hunt after completing a 9-4 demolition of the Warriors.
Wild Bill’s defeated sister squad Extreme, 8-5, which is the same score of Sands Team SCS’s victory over the Chow Time-Blue Haus Homeboyz.
Team SCS (194-88), Homeboyz (75-107), Extreme (70-112), and Jam Shooters (64-118) are in the other half of the standings.
