Lions to hold fundraising bike race

The Saipan Unity Lions Club will be holding a fundraising bicycle race on Sunday in Banzai Cliff in Marpi. Assembly time is at 5am and race starts at around 5:30am.

The 60-kilometer course will start and end at Banzai Cliff. From Banzai Cliff, participants would make three loops heading to Mobil Tanapag.

SULC official Joe Digno said registration is still open and walk in are also welcome to join on race day. Registration fee is $15 that comes with an event T-shirt.

Digno said proceeds of the race would go to Karidat Social Services for their various charity projects. “[SULC] has been committed in helping Karidat fund its various programs for our community.”

They had also asked the Department of Public Safety to assist them in directing the flow of traffic in the racecourse to keep the bikers safe from other motorists.

Exciting prizes will also be given away in the after-event raffle.
