Aqua Resort introduces Cajun cuisine

For those in the mood for a spicy summer, Aqua Resort Club Saipan is offering, for a limited time only, a summer Cajun Seafest starting on Aug. 1.
Not only is it a special to kick off the summer, it is also a means to introduce Cajun cuisine to the island with a fun twist.
Aqua Resort’s Cajun Seafest is styled somewhat like what other countries call a boodle fight: the dish is served in a bag—a bagful of seafoods—and the bag is torn open onto each table.
The dish is eaten without utensils and is eaten straight off of the table.
The seafood bag is paired with an appetizer trio, unlimited choices of refillable beverages, and an unlimited serving of jambalaya rice.
The resort did a test run last July 18 to introduce the special to selected guests. The dishes served were bursting with flavors.
According to Aqua Resort food and beverage operations manager Rom Manzon, the Cajun Seafest summer special is intended to create an atmosphere where every individual is allowed to let loose, get their hands a bit dirty, and just enjoy a meal with the family or a significant other.
The idea of a Seafest was inspired by a business trip made by Aqua Resort general manager Kevin Tsurui. According to the hotel’s sales and marketing assistant manager Victoria Sorrell, the reason for bringing the idea of a Cajun-themed offering was launched because it has never been done on the island yet.
Four combo bag sets are offered during the Cajun Seafest specials. The prices range from $65 to $95. Each set comes with an appetizer trio and unlimited choices of refillable beverages.
According to Sorrell, the community should expect fun, originality, and authenticity from the Cajun Se-fest special. Expect a meal with bold flavors. From the heat to the herbs, when combined in a dish, it packs a punch of flavor.
A 60-person capacity limit every night is set during the days that the Cajun Seafest special is offered. Reservations are encouraged and tables will not be given away once they are reserved, no matter how late.
The special is offered every Tuesday and Thursday at the Aqua Resort Club starting on Aug. 1 from 6pm to 9pm. For reservations, call the Aqua Resort at 322-1225.
