Teen Ayuyus vs Hualien FC Women’s Team

The CNMI Boys U18 National Team will play in a friendly game against Hualien FC Women’s Team this Friday at 4pm at the Hopwood Middle School Field.
Hualien is one of the clubs under Chinese-Taipei Football Association and according to Northern Mariana Islands Football Association technical director Michiteru Mita, 10 members of the club used to play for the Chinese-Taipei Women’s National Team. Currently, five of its players are called up to represent Chinese-Taipei in the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualification.
Mita added that the squad ruled the 2016 Chinese-Taipei Women’s League and since the competition started in 2014, Hualien has topped the league three times. The squad has been conducting a yearly training camp and had made stops to Guam and Okinawa, Japan in the past before opting to play on Saipan this year.
The visiting team will test the Teen Ayuyus, who are playing a series of friendly and training matches in preparation for its campaign in the AFC U19 Championships Qualifiers. The CNMI youth players are in Group J of the qualifier and will challenge North Korea, Australia, and Hong Kong in the Oct. 31 to Nov. 8 tournament with the venue yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Saipan Soccer School’s 2017 Youth Summer Futsal Tournament will give way to the friendly game between the Teen Ayuyus and Hualien and will have its Friday matches rescheduled for tomorrow.
The same games will be played with Kanoa Football Club 1 taking on SSS in the first match at 3pm in the U12 co-ed division, Saipan Elite battling HK SSS in the 4pm tiff in the boys U16, and F. Marinos taking on Marianas Health Armada in the girls U17 matchup at 5pm.
In today’s games, Kanoa FC 1 faces Kanoa FC 2 at 3pm, while Hakone FC and Isamu United collide in the 4pm match, and 4Gives meets NMI U16 at 5pm.
