NMC to host Health Careers Exploration Camp
The CNMI Area Health Education Center, through Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute, is sponsoring a health program for youth this summer.
Students who are interested in exploring different health careers will be exposed to introductory lessons and activities in nursing, rehabilitation and human services, science and math. The program will also feature presentations on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and basic first aid, nutrition, mental health, and much more. The overall goal is to expose students to health careers in the CNMI.
To qualify for the program, students must be between the ages of 11 and 17 and must be interested in pursuing health careers. The deadline to enroll in the 2017 Health Summer Program is Friday, July 21, 2017 by 4pm. Seats are limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The CNMI AHEC will subsidize this program for those who are residents of the CNMI (i.e. U.S. citizens and U.S. green card holders). Students must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID (i.e. birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, etc.) for verification upon registration.
The summer program will run 8am to 12pm Tuesday through Friday, from July 25 to Aug. 4, 2017.
To register, students can visit the CDI office in Building P at the NMC Saipan campus, or contact Queanna Sablan, CNMI AHEC program manager, by phone at (670) 237-6809 or by email at queanna.sablan@marianas.edu. (NMC)
