Man, 49, allegedly sexually assaulted 2 girls
A 49-year-old man was arrested in Tanapag on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting two minors.
Miguel Cecilio Arrozal, who works with the housekeeping department at Aqua Resort Club, was taken before Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho yesterday on charges of sexual assault in the second degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
A $50,000 cash bail was imposed on Arrozal; preliminary hearing is on July 18.
He is represented in the case by assistant public defender Nancy Dominski. Assistant attorney general Betsy Weintraub appeared for the government.
A police officer responded to a residence in Tanapag after receiving a call about a sexual abuse case. The officer met with a woman who alleged that Arrozal sexually abused two girls.
According to the complainant, an 8-year-old girl was crying on Sunday night after Arrozal allegedly gave her money, then kissed and touched her.
The defendant also allegedly gave money to a 10-year-old girl and kissed and touched her last week.
In an interview with the 10-year-old girl, she disclosed that Arrozal touched her on three different times.
A police officer escorted Arrozal to the Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation Bureau that Monday morning.
In an interview, Arrozal explained that sometimes he would kiss the two minors on the cheek and slap their buttocks.
