CARE to share updates
The CNMI Commonwealth Advocates for Recovery Efforts will be giving the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation an update on how it is doing with its recovery mission after the onslaught of Typhoon Soudelor in August 2015.
Since that time, CARE has worked continuously to help over 1,000 individuals recover from the aftermath of Typhoon Soudelor.
CARE has had laborers from Mennonite Disaster Service and World Renew on island for 10 months, resulting in the construction of safer and stronger homes. To date, volunteer laborers from MDS and World Renew have restored 50 homes, making them safe and secure for families.
In order to help the remaining families recover from Typhoon Soudelor, CARE needs to raise an additional $650,000 to pay for building materials, operating expenses, and contractors.
On July 11, CARE will be giving an update to SNILD to both inform it of their progress and report on their current situation.
CARE urges the community to join them on July 11 at 10am at the CNMI Legislature on Capital Hill to show the SNILD that community members believe in their mission.
