Two NMC graduates pass NCLEX-RN

Two Northern Marianas College graduates from the Class of 2017 just passed the challenging National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
Mika Sablan and Lovely Martin Lopez—who both took the exams at different times—have passed the NCLEX, joining the ranks of other NMC graduates who passed the difficult exam before them.
The NCLEX-RN is the exam nursing graduates in the CNMI have to pass in order to be able to practice nursing. The exam tests the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing graduates in order to certify that they are equipped with the capability to apply entry level nursing practices correctly.
NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez congratulated both Sablan and Lopez.
“The college community is extremely proud of Mika’s and Lovely’s achievement,” said Fernandez. “I have no doubt that both of them will become outstanding nurses.”
“I also want to recognize and thank the hard working faculty and staff of NMC’s Nursing Department for their role in guiding and supporting all our students,” Fernandez added.
Rosa Tudela, chairperson of NMC’s Nursing Department, said, “Both students are very committed to the nursing profession and will make excellent medical professionals. The Nursing Department is proud of their achievement.”
Sablan said a lot of confidence, prayers, and studying made her pass the NCLEX.
“I chose nursing as a profession because I know that no matter where life takes me, it will never leave me without an option for work,” Sablan said.
Lopez said her family’s support, prayers from her church members and friends, and adequate preparation time were the factors that helped her pass the NCLEX.
“The NMC nursing program really helped prepare me for this exam,” Lopez added. “My professors helped develop my nursing skills and equipped me with the essential knowledge and resources to tackle the difficult questions in the NCLEX.” (NMC)
