A fire of still unknown cause burned a house in Chalan Kanoa’s Laly Four yesterday afternoon.

As of press time, Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services arson investigators were still at the scene conducting their investigation.

DFEMS spokesman Derek Gersonde said no one was reported injured.

Gersonde said DFEMS received a call from the Department of Public Safety dispatch about a structure fire in Chalan Kanoa’s Laly Four at 3:30pm.

Firefighters from Koblerville and Garapan fire stations responded and placed the fire under control at 3:55pm.

Gersonde said based on the scene investigation and witness interview, the fire had started in the garage of a one-story concrete house.

The fire spread to the storage room and caused smoke damage in the kitchen and living room.

“Updates will be released when they are available,” Gersonde said.
