TanHoldings Football Club took the lead in Division A, while Shirley’s FC-1 remained at the No. 1 spot in Division B after the contrasting results of their respective games in the M-League last Sunday at the Hopwood Middle School Field.

TanHoldings crushed Ka-noa FC, 9-3, to gain a 9-0-2 win-draw-loss record and wrestle the driver’s seat from MP United and CNMI Boys U16 National Team, which holds identical 6-1-2 slates. Joshua Deleon and Sean Perez towed TanHoldings to the easy win after scoring three goals apiece, while Jershwin Angeles chipped in two and Jonathan Capayas added one. Saixian Bagsic, Rodwealth Espana, and Daiki Monzen had one goal each for Kanoa, which dropped to fifth place in the team standings with its 2-1-6 mark.

In the other Division A game, the CNMI U16 edged MP United, 2-1. Sunjoon Tenorio made the winning goal in the 56th minute, while Anthony Fruit drilled the other goal for the Teen Ayuyus 10 minutes earlier. Young Ju Lee tallied the lone goal for MP United in the 25th minute.

In Division B, Shirley’s FC-1 played Matansa in a scoreless draw to keep the top spot in their group. Shirley’s FC-1 has an 8-1-0 card, pending the results of its game against the CNMI Women’s National Team yesterday, and has a good lead against sister team Shirley’s FC-2 (5-3-1) and Kanoa (5-2-2). Matansa is at the bottom half of the team standings in the eight-squad field with its 2-3-4 card.

Shirley’s FC-2 notched its fifth win after outclassing WNT last Saturday, 3-2. Shirley’s FC-2 posted all its goal in the first half, courtesy of Jack Phan, Heng Gup Piao, and Louis Ryu’s shots in the sixth, 26th, and 29th minute, respectively. Britanny Wally and Lalaine Pagarao scored for WNT in the 53rd and 58th minute.

In other results in Division B, Sun Palace defeated Kanoa, 5-2, while the Thundercats got a free win (forfeit) over Korean Football Association on Saipan.

Sun Palace, which is now in fourth place in the rankings with its 4-1-4 record, drew two goals each from Feng Yu and Xiong Zhe Li and one from Jin Seok Seo. Brian Lubao and Minsoo Jun registered the two goals for Kanoa.
