CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force agents arrested on Thursday a couple allegedly engaged in selling methamphetamine or “ice” in Chalan Kanoa.

Christopher John Eger, 38, and his girlfriend, Crisanta Canosa Noche, 50, also known as Manang and Christine, were arrested for drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.

At a hearing on Friday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $100,000 cash bail each on Eger and Noche.

Assistant public defender Tillman Clark was appointed as counsel for Noche, while a private counsel will be appointed for Eger.

Preliminary hearing will be on June 15 at 9am.

Assistant attorney general Chester Hinds appeared for the government at the bail hearing.

According to DETF officer Roque K. Camacho, they were able to purchase “ice” from the couple using their cooperating source at three “buy-walk” operations at the suspects’ residence on Elphidia St. in Chalan Kanoa 2 last April.

Camacho said during the operation they were only able to identify the suspects as Chris and his girlfriend, Manang/Christine.

Camacho said surveillance showed that known drug users and traffickers were seen coming in and out from the couple’s residence.

Camacho disclosed in his report that during their first “buy-walk” operation on April 12, their cooperating source was able to purchase $30 worth of “ice” from the couple.

During the second operation held later that same day of April 12, a cooperating source was able to buy from the suspects $30 worth of crystal meth.

During the third operation on April 14, a cooperating source managed to buy 0.3 gross grams of crystal meth from the couple.
