A 65-year-old man allegedly smacked the ear of the husband of his pregnant niece and tried to attack him with a tire wrench inside a poker arcade in Koblerville on Thursday afternoon.

Vicente Sablan Basa was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

The police report did not indicate the motive for the attack. It alleged, however, that Basa was drunk at that time.

A police officer was dispatched to a call on Thursday at 4:34pm about a disturbance at KB Poker in Koblerville.

Another police officer also responded and arrested Basa, who was inside his car that was parked on the other side of the building.

Police said that prior to the incident, the 35-year-old victim and his 7-month pregnant wife were playing inside KB Poker. Later, Basa’s wife came and also played poker.

Basa then came in and smacked the victim’s left ear.

The victim’s wife got in between to prevent the fight.

Basa pulled a tier wrench from his pants. As Basa was allegedly about to swing the tier wrench, the victim threw a chair at him.

As a result, Basa lost his balance and fell. The victim and his wife ran outside and called the police.
