Military training at Warning Area 517, FDM
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. military will conduct training at Warning Area 517 during the following dates and times:
• May 30, from 3pm to 5pm
• May 31, from noon to 3pm
The military will also conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:
• June 1, from 8:30am. to 4:30pm
• June 2, from 7:30am to noon
The public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated.
W-517 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank are open for public use.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)
Philippine passports ready for pickup
Over 400 Philippine passports are now ready for pickup at the new office of the Philippines’ honorary consul to the Commonwealth.
Filipino citizens who applied to renew their passports last March through the Philippine consular outreach may pick up their renewed passports through Friday, June 2, from 9am to 5pm, at the new office, on the second floor of Building D at the Finasisu Terraces (top of New Finasisu minimart). The office will be closed from 12pm to 1pm daily. Filipinos who wish to pick up their renewed passports are required to bring their old passports and their receipt. Child seat, seatbelt checkpoints set
On Saipan, the Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol will be conducting occupant protection and child restraint today, May 30. The first checkpoint will be from Beach Road, Chalan Laulau to Beach Road, San Antonio from 9am to 11am. The second will be from Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, San Jose to Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Dandan from 12pm to 2pm. Police will also be conducting laser speed enforcement along various highways.
On Rota, the first setup on June 2 is from 6am to 7:15am at the San Francisco highway Tatachog area. The second from 6pm to 7:15pm is at the San Francisco highway Sonton area.
On June 3, the first setup is from 6am to 7:15am along the San Francisco highway Lotgan area. The second setup from 6pm to 7:15pm will be along the San Francisco highway by Teteto beach. (PR)
