A total of 307 Hopwood Middle School students were promoted to high school last Thursday at the campus grounds.
The class valedictorian, Jhanylin Marielle Cruz, plans to go to Marianas High School and ultimately become a pediatrician.
“I’d like to maybe one day be a part of Doctors Without Borders,” she said, while also expressing an interest in DWB, an international humanitarian nongovernmental organization that provides medical humanitarian support in war-torn countries.
“In general, I want to help them get better,” said Cruz. If the opportunity to serve the community arises, however, she assured that it would not be ignored.
Salutatorian Jenny Ann Capayas is both happy and proud of her awards. “I hope my family and friends are happy about it as well,” she said.
Like Cruz, Capayas also plans to attend MHS.
