Add $10,000 more to the already impressive list of prizes that may be won at the 22nd Annual Tournament of Champions. Pacific Insurance Underwriters announced Friday that it is participating in the golf tournament by sponsoring the large cash award as a hole-in-one prize on both days of the tournament.

“The Governor’s Tournament of Champions has been highly successful [in] raising funds that benefit beautification projects throughout the island,” said Shirley Sablan, executive vice president and general manager of Pacifica Insurance. “It’s exciting to be able to take part in a tournament whose purpose is to deliver positive, impactful changes in our community.”

“The resources we share with the TOC and other non-profit organizations reflect our commitment to this community and I commend all businesses that do the same,” Sablan added.

“The Tournament of Champions credits its longstanding success to the generosity of companies like Pacifica Insurance,” said Ben Babauta, tournament director. “Our optimism continues to grow knowing companies like Pacifica are committed to our cause.”

The 22nd Governor’s Tournament of Champions will be played at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s east and west courses on May 27 and 28. The two-day event is bigger and better than ever with exciting hole-in-one prizes and the chance to win thousands of dollars in possible prizes. The TOC tournament fee is $200.

Winners in the Men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior and Super Senior flights will each receive $500, $400, $300, a digital camera, and $100 DFS gift certificate for the first to fifth place, respectively. The Ladies Low Gross winners will receive $500, $400, and $300 for first to third place, respectively. The first, second, and third place winners of the Ladies Low Net will each receive a trophy.

There will be hundreds of thousands worth of prizes that will be at stake in the two-day tournament, including hole-in-one prizes that include a brand new 2017 Honda Civic hatchback donated by Joeten Motors, a brand new 2017 Hyundai Grand Santa Fe donated by Triple J Motors, a brand new 2017 Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Toyota Corolla donated by Atkins Kroll Toyota, a $5,000 hole-in-one cash prize donated by McDonald’s Saipan, and one year of free golf donated by Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.

Since its inception, TOC has turned over more than $800,000 to the Saipan Beautification Fund, which has gone directly to improvements like the tree-lined traffic medians that stretch from Garapan to the Kensington, as well as the revitalization of the Garapan special district. In addition, the Governor’s TOC also contributed funds for the Paseo de Marianas, the lighting of the Saipan Beach Road pathway, and the beautification of the Port-to-Park pathway.
