The Marianas Visitors Authority was in Guam this month for in-person marketing targeting military personnel, their families, and the public.

The 12th Annual Joint Military Travel Fairs were conducted and organized by the Morale Welfare and Recreation unit on Guam’s two military bases.

The first travel fair was held on May 3, 2017, at the Sunrise Convention on Andersen Air Force Base, with an estimated 900 attendees. The second fair was held on May 4 at the Top O’ the Mar on Nimitz Hill, Guam, with approximately 600 attendees.

“In addition to the year-round print advertising we conduct via the military magazines and newspapers in Guam, the MVA’s participation in the annual military travel fairs is our best opportunity to meet face-to-face with military personnel and their families stationed there,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “In particular, we shared maps, printed collaterals and promotional materials from our tourism partners on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.”

In partnership again this year with PDI and with new partner Imperial Pacific, the MVA operated a promotional booth and distributed information about Saipan, Tinian, and Rota at both events. Calls on travel agents and dive shops were also made while the delegation was in Guam. (MVA)
