Korean celebrities Jaehoon Lee and Jiyoon Park are generating quite a buzz in their roles as Marianas tourism ambassadors, recently wrapping up music video filming and fashion photo shooting projects on Saipan, Tinian and Rota with the Marianas Visitors Authority.
Park visited Saipan and Tinian last month on a photo shoot for her fashion brand DICOTE with celebrity model Hyejung Hwang Bo. The photo shoot was conducted at major attraction points on Saipan and Tinian while they stayed at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort. During Park’s visit to the Marianas, she uploaded 15 related Instagram posts, each receiving more than 5,000 “Likes,” mainly from women in their 20s and 30s.
Lee and his production staff filmed a music video for his new album while on Saipan and Rota.
“This was the crew’s first visit to Rota, and they all loved it, especially scuba-diving at Coral Garden and Rota Hole, eating local food including coconut crabs and raw lobsters prepared by Rota Resort and Country Club,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman.
“They had back road driving experiences to As Matmos and Pona Point to capture the beautifully preserved nature of the island. Many of Lee’s fans have showed great interest in traveling to the Marianas as he has uploaded Marianas-related posts on his personal Instagram and replied to many of his fans’ comments and inquiries on each of his posts.”
Lee was accompanied by Korean celebrity singer Jung Lee, who said he especially enjoyed shopping at Tribe Marianas, visiting the Garapan Street Market, having a barbecue at Paupau Beach, and scuba-diving on Rota.
Photos and video footage during the tours will be utilized in both online and offline marketing programs, especially through MVA’s official social media channels in Korea, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other travel related social media platforms in Korea.
During their visit, the ambassadors also attended a dinner hosted by the MVA. Discounted lodging was provided by Laolao Bay Golf & Resort and Rota Resort & Country Club. (MVA)
