Share

Students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing can apply to become part of the Northern Marianas College Nursing Department’s newest cohort in the fall 2017 semester. Those who meet the program’s requirements can submit their application before Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

The selection of students will be based on the following criteria: cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher; completion of all nursing and general education prerequisites with a grade of “C” or higher; the ability to understand, speak and write in English; and passage of the interview with the department.

Off-island applicants can be interviewed via telephone or videoconference.

The number of students selected will also depend on the number of faculty available to teach the class. At this time, the class size will be limited to 25 students. If there is not enough space for all applicants, a wait list will be established.

Students are advised to make an appointment with their adviser as soon as possible to discuss prerequisites and transcripts in order to determine current standing and progress toward meeting eligibility requirements.

Selection of cohort participants will be completed before Aug. 2017. A notification letter will be sent to each applicant using the address designated on the application. Application forms are attached or can be picked up at the NMC Nursing Department in Building C at the NMC As Terlaje campus (Mon. to Fri., from 8am to 4pm), or may be downloaded from www.marianas.edu.
