Joeten Motors donates Ford Fiesta as hole-in-one prize

  The excitement of the upcoming 17th Annual Tournament of Champions has just been raised by Joeten Motors and the Joeten Charitable Foundation’s donation of a brand new 2012 Ford Fiesta as a hole-in-one prize. With this contribution, the tournament will now be featuring three different vehicles as hole-in-one prizes.

“The Tournament of Champions raises funds for important community projects, and we want to be a part of that effort by offering this hole-in-one prize,” said Matthew Deets, general manager of Joeten Motors.

“Joeten Motors has consistently been a part of the success of the Tournament of Champions, and we are glad the company is joining us this year as a gold sponsor again,” said Ben Babauta, tournament director.

The 17th Annual Tournament of Champions will be played at the LaoLao Bay Golf Resort’s east and west courses on Aug. 4 and 5. The two-day event is bigger and better than ever with exciting hole-in-one prizes and the chance to win thousands of dollars in possible prizes.

The TOC tournament fee is $175.

First place winners in the Men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior, and Super Senior Flights will each receive $500 cash, $400 for second, $300 for third, a digital camera to fourth, and $100 DFS gift certificate for fifth place.

The Ladies Low Gross champion will receive $500, $400 for second, and $300 for third place. The first, second, and third place winners of the Ladies Low Net will receive a trophy.

Over $300,000 worth of prizes is at stake in the two-day tournament, including hole-in-one prizes worth $50,000 on both the east and west courses courtesy of AON Insurance. The Bank of Hawaii also recently confirmed that it is sponsoring another hole-in-one prize of $20,000. Other hole-in-one prizes include a 2013 Hyundai Elantra from Triple J Motors and a 2013 Toyota Venza from Microl Toyota.

If that’s not impressive enough, Saipan Laolao Golf Resort is offering one year of free golf as another hole-in-one prize, while Delta Airlines is also contributing business class airfares to the U.S. mainland as yet an additional hole-in-one prize.

The tournament will also be featuring $1,000 cash prizes for closest to pin competitions.

Since its inception TOC has given over $500,000 to the Saipan Beautification Fund, which has gone directly to the improvements of the tree-lined traffic medians that stretch from Garapan to the former Palm Resort, as well as the revitalization of the Garapan tourist district. In addition, TOC also contributed funds for the Paseo de Marianas, the lighting of the Saipan Beach Pathway, and most recently the beautification of the Port to Park pathway.
