Fernando and Pagarao were among the double figurer scorers for Ali’i/Blue Haus as the former earned 13 points, 6 of them came in the final canto, while the latter had 4 of his 10 markers in the payoff frame. Elmer Esdrelon led Ali’i/Blue Haus’ balance scoring with his 14 markers, while Brendon Talania and Marlon De Dios chipped in 11 each, and Darwin Barbo contributed 10.
Stephen’s Pawnshop also had multiple players breaking into twin digits, but just could not slip past Ali’i/Blue Haus in the second half after going neck-and-neck with the eventual winner in the first 20 minutes of play.
The first half ended with Ali’i/Blue Haus holding a shaky lead, 50-49, while the opposing teams were even after the opening canto, 23-23. Ali’i/Blue Haus then gained more cushion in the third canto, 75-70, thanks to the combined 13 points of Talania and Esdrelon. Then in the fourth canto, it was the turn of Pagarao and Fernando to join forces in keeping Ali’i/Blue Haus in the driver’s seat against the young guns of Stephen’s Pawnshop, which played without Douglas Schmidt.
Meanwhile, Frank Ferrer fired 27 points, while Sid Quan chipped in 15 to lift Cuadro PS to victory against Kagman.
The nightcap was also a close game, but Cuadro PS prevailed in the end, thanks to its Top 2 scorers. Ferrer and Quan registered all of Cuadro PS’ points in the fourth quarter to cancel out the successive baskets of Trevor Ogumoro for Kagman.
In other results this week, Arianne Fish Mart and United Ballers posted contrasting wins last Monday. United Ballers pulled off a 70-67 triumph over Bolleros, while Arianne eased past Sweep Waters, 115-91.
